How to make sexy vintage shorts for the summer

I ♥ Goodwill. You may as well know this now if you're planning on reading my blog. I am a thrifter. I have found some of the coolest vintage clothing costing me only the change in my purse at Goodwill and I'm one of the stores biggest fans!

To make the oh so sexy casual chic shorts that I know you have to be craving after seeing Anna de Rijk's ParisVogue picture.

PERFECT for the beach. : )

They are vintage, they are stylish, and although they show off your assets-, they remain classy.

Anyways, getting to the point. HOW TO MAKE THEM.

1. Go to goodwill or your local thrift shop

2. Find a pair of pants. They can be slacks, vintage pants, or jeans. Make sure they aren't super-tight, preferably loose over your thighs.
-Both high-waisted and hip-huggers can work for these depending on the look you're going for-

3. Buy them, take them home, and try them on.

4. Figure out what length they look best on you - general rule is at least 4 inches down but it honestly depends on your preference and height. Remember that these are NOT to be daisy's.

5. Make several marks on each leg 3-4 inches BELOW desired end-length

6. Take them off and cut them!

7. Roll your shorts twice

8. Depending on the fabric of the shorts you may want to "tack" them on both sides of your leg (right and left, not front and back).
-Tacking is sewing 3-4 stitches and will hold the shape of your shorts-

Gorgeous Girly Sunhats
I absolutely. adore. sunhats.
They are flattering, girly, and well, just girly! : )

Nautical
Blue and white are back in this summer, throw in a splash of red to make it pop and set sail!

Looser summer shorts(aka boyfriend shorts)
Definitely cute, chic, and in style right now are the "boyfriend shorts". They are looser than your regular thigh-huggers and are super versatile, classy, and comfy!

Vintage!
The 50's and 60's classic ladylike looks are back! And with it are the glamour and retro looks of the 70's. Yay for floral chic patterns, frilly loose blouses, jumpsuits, jean, high-waisted skirts and shorts and more.

Jackets!(watch for zippers on the sleeves), pants, leather skirt (I highly recommend you go with a white or tan quilted leather for this), and sexy biker boots.
Lace, Crochet, and Macrame.
Dearest reader, please be careful with these. They are stunning when used properly and awful when not. Rule of thumb: stick to neutral colors, thicker patterns and only do see through when you have a layer underneath or over-top.
